Wagon R

Wrapup

The practical design leads to very good space inside and provides very easy ingress/egress. Wagon R continues to sell well and is now also available with an auto gearbox and safety features. It isn't an ideal highway car, but a decent performer nevertheless. It's reliable, value for money proposition.

Quick Review

Post its introduction in the year 1999, WagonR, one of India’s beloved tall boy hatchback has undergone a series of changes and it now runs into its second generation. With a unique tall boy, boxed design, space loving Indian audiences gave a thumbs up to this hatch and welcomed it with much ease. This tall boy hatch still accounts for a majority of sales numbers under the Maruti Suzuki brand in the country. Its unique design stands out in the crowd with shorter overhangs on the front and rear making it a perfect car for the traffic ridden city roads. Maruti has used chrome in its latest avatar to make it more premium on the outside. With a wide rectangular air dam and chrome plated front grille, the Suzuki logo sits right at the centre of the grille. Its new blue tint finished swept back headlamps take most of the credit for its front facade with neatly finished all black fog lamps that rest on the front bumper. Its boxy design doesn’t really require much character lines on the body as its large inclined front windscreen and enormous window panes speaks for itself. The 8 spoke 14 inch alloy wheels makes the WagonR stance more upright from the side. While, the rear panel accounts for a large tailgate with not too high loading lip which makes luggage loading and unloading an easy affair. Vertically mounted crystal effect tail lamps adds on to its boxed design along with its initials engraved chrome bar above the number plate which adds a tad premium touch to this hatchback. To complete the overall package, Maruti Suzuki has also provided accessories such as roof rails, a rear wiper and defogger as well as body colored side mirrors and door handles.
