Quick Review

This latest sports sedan offering from Jaguar has definitely strengthened the British brand’s overall lineup. Jaguar can surely hope to witness a great response especially in India due to its attractive pricing and aggressive design that makes it stand out from the luxury cars in the country. For the first time, Jaguar can now compete with the likes of entry level poplar models such as Audi A4, BMW 3 Series and the Mercedes Benz C Class with the XE. Despite being the cheapest in the Jag lineup, XE does comes packed with a lot of details up its sleeves to entice Indian luxury car buyers. On the outside, it inherits the Jaguar lineage with its sculpted lines at the center of the bonnet that leads up to the Jaguar logo at the front grille. The traditional meshed styled rectangular grille gets chrome treatment while the brand has also infused a lot of sporty elements into the drive. The front bumper is as aggressive as it can get with an extended front lip spoiler along with air dams at the centre and at the corner as well. Introduction of Jag’s signature J-blade LED daytime running lights along with sweptback xenon headlamps makes it attractive but somehow bares reflection of other Jag siblings as well.

However, this luxury sports sedan puts its best foot forward from the side with its sloping coupe styled roofline and a fine character line on its belly that defines its length as well as its dynamic styling. Chrome covered side air vents showcases the perfect amalgamation of sporty DNA with luxury. Its standard fitment includes 17 inch twin spoke alloy wheels which can be upgraded depending on individual customization. The sports characteristic of this sedan continuous onto the rear as well with short rear overhangs defined with raised tailgate creases and character lines onto the rear quarter panel. The F-type inspired LED tail lights makes the XE stand out from the crowd and is surely striking to look at during the night. Use of black cladding on the rear bumper which also encapsulates the exhaust pipes adds onto its sporty attire. Overall, on the looks of it, for an entry level luxury saloon, XE is surely a level up.
