Xcent

Wrapup

Xcent is a compact sedan based on Grand i10 and it has more or less the same traits. The boot is practical and usefully large, but the diesel engine's weak nature is further accentuated in larger car. Rear seat space is not bad. Clocking consistent numbers, but couldn't be as big a success in its segment as Grand i10 in its.

Quick Review

The war in the sub 4 meter compact sedan segment is getting hotter and hotter every day. A segment introduced by Maruti Suzuki has now come a long way with dozens of upgrades and modern day razzmatazz on offer. One offering which has managed to occupy a strong foothold in this segment is the Hyundai Xcent which is basically a boot extension of the popular Hyundai Grand i10. From the front it is almost impossible to differentiate the Xcent from its sibling Grand i10 as it embraces identical looks. Large Hyundai styled hexagonal front grille with neat and elegant air dam fins does offer soothing appeal to this subcompact sedan. A single chrome slat grille houses the Hyundai logo on the front which leads to angular sweptback headlamps. The fluidic design theme of Hyundai is quite evident on the character lines with its flowing roof line which goes all the way to the extended boot ending in a kammback tail design with a raised boot-line. Wrap-around tail lights at the rear along with diamond cut 15 inch alloy wheels on the sides makes for a neat overall package which should be ideal for a nuclear Indian family. And because it’s a Hyundai, you also get its accustom features such as electrically foldable outside mirrors with turn indicators along with side molding and chrome coated door handles in order to sprinkle some premium appeal to this subcompact sedan.
