Elantra

Wrapup

In its 6th iteration now, the resurrected Elantra can shake its segment given smart pricing. Its sharper styling makes it look confident. grown up and taut with splendid interior finish. Diesel unit could have been larger and rear seats are a bit low. Stiffer chassis translates to better dynamics than before.

The X Factor

With 7,46,924 units sold, Elantra was world's 6th highest selling car in 2015! Surprisingly, its sales had decreased by more than 9 percent from 2014.

Bizarre

The 3rd generation Elantra, 1st one for India, had a 2.0 litre diesel engine while its latest iteration has a 1.6 litre diesel motor!

Background

Present Elantra is in its 6th generation, and the first one to hit the Indian roads was the 3rd generation model. Hyundai altogether skipped the 4th generation model for India.
