Figo Aspire

Wrapup

Strong competitor in compact sedan segment with all requirements major Indian buyers look for. It has spacious cabin and fuel efficient engines though petrol lacks the punch one may expect. Many equipment's are missing but has nice safety kit fitted.

Quick Review

Ford entered the war of the sub four meter category compact sedans in the country with its newly introduced Figo Aspire. A segment which is majorly governed by either the home grown or Japanese manufacturers. With the entrance of an American player into the battle, things are surely going to heat up as time progresses. Aspire follows the same mantra like any other sub four metre sedan in the country by borrowing everything from its hatchback sibling and adding a boot for added space. On the outside, the Aston Martin inspired front grille steals the show giving it quite an upmarket appeal. The strong hood lines makes for an aggressive stance at the front which is well complimented by its large sweptback headlights which makes it one of the most attractive package in this segment. A wide air dam on the front bumper with small fog lamps on the corners and a neatly placed front lip spoiler enhances its sporty character. Its sedan avatar can be clearly witnessed from the sides with a kammback styled tail that gives a sharp vertical cut on the back. Rest of its attributes are all identical to Figo. In an attempt to showcase its long silhouette, a deep shoulder line runs from the taillight cluster onto the A pillar. Its smaller 14 inch rims makes the wheel arches appear more small in their spread, Ford could have opted for better looking 15 or 16 inch wheels which would have really highlighted its profile from the side. The most noticeable change is from the back itself, where the Figo gets an additional boot and makes itself ‘Aspire.’ The sharp crease on the tail gate is well bordered with a thick chrome bar encapsulating the Ford logo for that upmarket effect. The Aspire badging is also quite pleasing to the eye. Its sweptback tail lamps and some sharp lines on the rear bumper completes its sedan avatar.
