Wrapup

The first model by the company in India and it's an economical hatch with loads of space at offer. It's practical and easy to drive around; maintenance is also low along with fuel efficient engine. Lacks quality built and features.

Quick Review

Datsun as a brand has undergone a lot of transformation under its parent company Nissan. Especially after its re-birth, and entry into developing auto markets, things do look quite sorted now. Presenting India with its first entry level compact hatchback in 2014, Datsun Go did manage to make headlines with its simple yet stylish appeal and the affordability tag that this car carried. On the outside this hatchback appears quite modern with its slant creases on the bonnet, which is kept quite short, as it runs onto the signature D styled meshed front grille with chrome outlines. The shortcoming of a small bonnet is well covered up by the long hexagonal headlamps that run parallel to the bonnet making its facade appear quite big and yet stylish. Presence of pseudo air dams on the front bumper and some fine vertical cuts looks quite promising in order to attract a younger crowd towards this compact hatch. With blackened pillars and highlighted wheel arches which accommodates 13 inch wheels, GO looks very orthodox on the side with a soothing appeal. However, what stands out is its unique shoulder line which runs onto the rear of this hatch which does give it a broad look from the back. The sweptback rectangular taillights and a raised rear bumper offers a no-nonsense look while the overall build quality also appears satisfactory considering the segment where Go fits in.
