Founded in 1948, Land Rover is one of the well known British company that is famous for its off-road vehicles. Tata Motors took over Land Rover along with Jaguar in 2008. Land Rover expertise is in manufacturing off-road vehicles which are up amongst the best and even treated as benchmark by rivals. As the brand evolved, Land Rover has become a luxury off-road brand and moved ahead from utilitarian origins. Indian market does not see Land Rover Defender which is one of the best offroaders from Land Rover’s stable. There have been a few glitches, specially electronic ones which Land Rover has faced worldwide, but Land Rover remains a favored vehicle where the operating conditions are rough and harsh. Currently, Jaguar and Land Rover do share their manufacturing facilities and combine synergies for development. Land Rover for the first to introduce a very advanced Terrain Response System wherein the driver can select from various off road modes like mud, sand, rock, etc. Land Rover today offers one of the best combinations of luxury and off-road ability along with strong on road performance. It must be mentioned that Land Rover Defender is used by many militaries all over the world.
